Family, Friends, Fire Engine, Fun

Antalya and I have had a busy day! This morning we made the hour drive to my parents house to have lunch with my mom, and Sheridan - one of my best friends. We met when we were both living in Israel 8 years ago. We came back to the states the same time and were roommates for several years until she decided to move to Manhattan where she has been living ever since. It was so great to see her. I feel blessed to have a friend that no matter the distance or the time that passes, our friendship stays strong. It was so great to see you Sher, and I can't wait until next time!
After a short rest and a snack we headed to our Early Intervention's yearly summer barbeque. Some of Antalya's cousins came along to join in the fun. Antalya loved her first taste of cotton candy. Can you blame her? I think I still get just as excited when I see cotton candy as I did when I was five. It is heavenly! After dinner a fire truck came and squirted it's hose into the air so everyone could play in the water. The kids loved it. I had fun running through the spray with Antalya.

And here is my favorite picture of the day!

Beach Babe

We just got back from a fun weekend at a lake a few hours away with my parents, all of my siblings, and Antalya's cousins. Antalya loved having so many people to play with her, but her favorite thing was the beach! She was in heaven! The water was so cold I didn't even want to put my feet in, but that didn't deter Antalya. Here's my favorite pics of her from the trip.

Reunion

What are some of your favorite childhood memories? I'm sure that many of your memories are similar to mine. Sledding down snow covered hills, running through sprinklers, lemonade stands on the corner, sleepovers (where we did a lot more talking about boys than actually sleeping), hiking through the hills determined to find a magical city, staying out late on warm summer nights to play neighborhood night games, birthday parties, the list could go on and on.

Last night I got to see all the girls (minus Brittany who couldn't make it) who helped make my childhood years so much fun. It has been several years since we have all been together. Although the closeness we once felt has somewhat faded with the years, I am so glad I can still call these women my friends. It was so fun to see you all last night, and thanks again Brooke for having us all over (we missed you Brit). I can't wait for the next time!

Friday Fun

Friday we went on a "field-trip" with Antalya's early intervention class. We had a great time at the "Little Gym". We did a table activity and then got to spend some time playing on all the fun equipment. Afterwards Antalya and I had a movie party with a couple of her cousins (pictures of that coming). All in all, it was a very fun, tiring day.
