In Memory of Elli

I am sad to announce that Elli passed away two nights ago. She was only one year old. This was the only picture we have of her. It was taken when she was about 6 weeks old. She was the daughter of our dogs Digo and Izzy. It's unclear what exactly happened but somehow during the night on Monday she had some trauma to the chest that caused one side of her lungs to implode and fill with blood. The vet said it is possible that it could have happened while her and Digo where playing. Elli was a very rambunctious dog and loved to run and jump and play, which it seems is what caused her early death. We will miss her. Her mom Izzy, got into some poison last December and passed away. So now Digo is all alone. I hope he can handle it alright. We might think about getting another dog, but it won't be until at least next spring.

Simple Pleasures

I took Antalya to run a few errands with me in the stroller today. She got tired of waiting at the bank, so I snagged her a sucker. She LOVED it! It kept her happy for the next 30 min or so. Just enough time to finish running our errands. The best part about is that I never removed the wrapper! If only we could all be so happy about wrapped candy.

Yesterday we made the drive up to Fort Bridger, Wyoming to see the annual Mountain Man Rendevous. It was quite the experience. We saw Native Americans perform traditional dances and songs. We saw lots of animals hides and furs, and lots of people dressed in traditional attire - whether it be leather and furs, prairie dresses, or native american clothing. It was a lot of fun. Jason bought a piece of deer hide, Sunny bought a glass bead, and Antalya's favorite find was the nice, cool bottle that the just brewed Root Beer came in (the Root Beer was especially yummy, but she didn't know that)!
