It's a Healthy Baby!

This morning was our appointment for an ultrasound. I have been counting down the days and weeks with anticipation, but as soon as we pulled into the hospital I realized how nervous I really was. I think if Jason hadn't been there with me I would've turned around and gone home. Maybe there are some of you out there can relate to my feelings. You see, after our experience with Antalya, the meaning of an ultrasound has changed. It no longer is all about finding out the sex of the baby, but rather finding out if your baby has any birth defects.

I was terrified we would get there and they would tell me there was something horribly wrong with my baby. Could I keep my composure no matter what the news was? Well, after waiting for a half hour (which really felt like several hours) we were finally called back to the dimly lit room.

So the results? Everything looks good! There is nothing to be concerned about. We are thrilled!

Oh, and yes, we did find out the sex. It is most definitely a little girl. Jason and I were a little surprised as we both thought Antalya was going to have a big, tough, little brother to stick up for her when other kids are mean, but I guess that's not what she needs after all. We are thrilled and can't wait to meet our other little girl.

I am SO excited for you guys! And I am so glad everything looks great! Another girl! Yeah! Girls are so much fun and Antalya will love having a sister and I am sure her sister will stick up for her just as much as a brother would! Good luck with everything!

Are you kidding? Girls can be a lot tougher than boys any day of the week, especially if a little sister is involved! I'm so excited for you guys! I just sent you a message on facebook, I was too excited to wait and find out, but then I checked your blog. Congrats!!!!

So happy for you! Your right unless you have been through a similar situation as yours it is all about finding out the sex. I would have never thought about how much anxiety that would bring. You always give me a new perspective. So fun to have girls!

Oh congratulations!! I've been thinking about you all day. Thanks for posting this.

And yes, we can attest to the fact that girls can be a lot tougher than guys sometimes.

Plus, there is something so magical about the bond of sisterhood. I love it. I'm sure your girls will too. :)

Love ya!

WOOOHOOO!!!! A precious baby girl!!! So happy all went well, and I undersatnd what you went through. 5 babies later and I still have the same feeling on ultrasound day.

As far as a big brother to stick up for Antalya well, let me say my girls are MUCH more protective than my boys. Often times I think it's because they are more sensitive. They have been known to put others in their place when it comes to Jonathan. So just as Jonathan has so many siblings out their as his advocate so will Miss Antalya...sister or brother!!!

Congratulations!!!! What a wonderful blessing!

that is such great news that the baby is healthy and yes I can relate with the whole "utrasound" experience-it does change things. Funny thing was I thought for sure Leah was going to have a little sister that she could pal around with and include her in things-but nope we got a boy and I guess that's what the Lord thought Leah needed.

I know exactly how you felt. Doctors told us the chance of having another child with T21 was 'huge' (well, actually 2.something %) and we were really nervous too. But now Sofia has her little brother and as for now, she's the one defending him from the 'meanies'...
Love, Kathrin

PS: You're blog is really great!
