Dishes and Amnios

What is it about water that is so intriguing? Occasionally, when I need a few moments to myself, I clear out the sink of the dirty dishes, fill it with a few clean ones, turn the water on a light flow, and let Antalya climb up on a chair and pretend to wash the dishes. It is one her most favorite activities. She will play for as long I let her. I am always grateful when I discover safe, stay-put activities that hold Antalya's attention for more than a couple minutes.

On a completely different note, a few of you know I had an amnio done last week. We have been a little concerned with a few things about this pregnancy. Just wanted to let those of you who have been wondering know that the amnio came back normal. I have another ultrasound later next week to check the babies growth. Although we haven't let ourselves spend anytime worrying about things, I must admit that I will breathe a big sigh of relief when that is over. Hopefully all these tests will be for nothing other than a mama's peace of mind that everything is fine. I can't wait to meet this new little girl. For those of you wondering, we still don't have a name picked out and are open to suggestions. The only requirement is that it must be a name of a place somewhere in the world.

Let's see... exotic places from around the world... how about Elsinore (Denmark), Sicily (Italy), or Andalusia (Spain)?

If you like "regions" of the world, there is always Carinthia, Catalonia, Livonia, Lorraine, or Nylandia. (Some people look through baby books -- you look through the gazetteer!)

Oh I had no idea there were concerns with the pregnancy. Sorry I haven't been a better friend and if you need anything let me know. I am glad the amino came back normal. I love the sink idea. I may have to try that one!

I have just discovered this trick with Graham...water is magical I tell you.

I hope all goes well with the rest of your tests and that you can rest easy soon.

My cousin served her mission in Adelaide, Australia and named her daughter Adelaide. I love it. You can even shorten it to Addie. That's my vote.

Glad the amnio came back normal! Good luck this last little bit--it's so exciting!

What a cute little helper! About the name thing - we just had a couple in our ward name their little girl Seattle... I think it's so cute - Morgan calls her baby skittle...

My kids have always loved "doing the dishes." Until they are about 9, that is. It is wonderful to have a an hour of "alone time" while they busy themselves with that.

hmm...names. I think the suggestions here are good. I just still like London. We also recently found out there is a quaint sea-side town named Elise in France.

Geneva and Andalucia. If we'd had a girl first we would have used Andalucia ourselves. Now with three boys I don't know if we'll ever get a chance. Either way, we have another girl name we plan on using. Maybe someday. Or you could take the Arabic version of it. Al Andalus. It sounds cool if you say it together.

I like the name Sydney (since I have always wanted to go to Australia) Krisite Marshall named her daughter London since her husband served in London Englad. Where did Jason serve his mission?? Any cool names from that region? Of you Sunny...any cool places from your mission. I can't wait to hear the final name

Howdy Sunny, thanks for commenting on my blog!! I thought I had you on my blog roll in the side bar, but I have somehow missed seeing your posts lately. :D So now I'll come and comment again.

Glad I saw this post!! Didn't know you were concerned with this pregnacy (though I guess it's only natural to be). Glad to hear the Aminos are alright. :D

Plus a great idea for keeping Roxie entertained (can always use those!!)

Hope your day is great!!

:D

Leah loves water too! that's a great idea and I'm gonna try it out with her-though I don't know if there is ever a time when I don't have dirty dishes in my sink!
I am feeling your pain w/your pregnancy-being pregnant w/Brody was one of the hardest things that I had to endure. hang in there and it will all be over sooner than you know it.

Good name suggestions in the comments! I can only think of London or England. My coworker's daughter's name is English.
