Potty Time

Most mornings Antalya agrees to sit on the potty for a few minutes. The first three times we did this we had great success. I was beginning to think potty training was going to be a cinch. Well, that was two weeks ago. Since then we haven't had any luck. The closest was a few days ago when after sitting for about 10 minutes, Antalya stood up, said she was all done, walked to the corner of the bathroom, squatted and peed on the floor. Sigh.

Yet, each morning we try it again, hoping that it will eventually all sink in.

And how, you might ask, do I entice her into the bathroom and convince her to for sit so long? The secret lies in allowing her to munch on chips and salsa will she "goes potty". She is a girl after my own heart!

Oh my gosh, that is too cute ! So Douglas isn't the only child who loves chips and salsa ! But hey, we had to do whatever worked for him when he potty trained too. Bribing is all a part of potty training. I promise, it works ! And just think, chips and salsa won't give cavities like candy will. I love that Douglas only wanted gum when he was potty training. No cavities from that - hooray !

I have no idea what to say, but I guess we all grow up knowing how to use the potty-eventually. I guess you have a special case on your hands too. I miss you. I miss walking by your place knowing I can't just knock on the door to say hi, (not like I ever did), but the fact that I CAN'T still makes me sad. You're not missing out too much on the happenings of the ward, or the constant needs that surround us. We miss you. Have fun there! You'll be so glad you took this leap of faith. We all believe in you, and yes, no doubt there is a higher power watching out for you every second!

I wish I would have thought of that! Maybe potty training wouldn't have been so painful! Good Luck, fun times ahead I'm sure!

They do say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Chips and salsa! Love it.

oh, the potty. I think you are doing the right thing by being consistent. The kids never are, it seems. Hang in there.

I love your picture because: The bangs are so cute,
the doll is so ready to use the toilet,
the cute Ikea bowls are cleverly keeping her modest,
AND she looks like she's having a grand ol' time!
